Making the switch to stone is actually remarkably easy and cost effective (generally in the vicinity of a couple of thousand dollars – depending on the size of your kitchen of course!) but in terms of the added value and the overall impact this cosmetic upgrade will make to the look and feel of your home, it’s well worth it.
Tip 2. Be inspired by handle choices
Updating your handles to something fresh and modern is a sure-fire way to instantly refresh the look of your cabinetry. If you currently have those round plastic knobbly handles on every cupboard door – you know the ones! – then you should absolutely consider replacing them with something a little more modern and on trend. The transformation a simple handle can make to your space should not be underestimated, they have the power to change the aesthetic of your whole kitchen for very little effort.
Tip 3. Statement Splashbacks
Its not uncommon for an older style kitchen to have a tiled splashback that has seen years (if not decades) of oil and pasta sauce splashes, and let’s be honest, there is only so much a good clean will do to revive it. A new feature tile or even re-grouting the existing tiles will do wonders for the space, but if you really want to make a visual impact another option is to do away with the tiles completely and go for a glass splashback.
