Burns Beach

Set right on the beach, this Webb & Brown-Neaves display home takes a contemporary approach to mid-century coastal design. The interiors draw on the natural tones and textures of the surrounding coastline, balanced with clean lines and considered detailing throughout.

We manufactured and installed the cabinetry and stone throughout the home, carrying a consistent material palette across the kitchen, laundry, scullery, bathrooms and living spaces. The result is a cohesive interior that feels connected to its coastal surroundings while maintaining a distinctly contemporary feel.

Cabinetry Colour Palette

Polytec Tasmanian Oak brings warmth and natural timber tones to the cabinetry, with golden-brown hues and a realistic timber structure. The subtle straight grain and half-crown cuts create variation across the surface, while its warm, natural character complements the mid-century influence throughout the home.

Stone Benchtop & Tiling

Caesarstone Organic White was selected for the benchtops, with its soft white base and subtle tonal variation complementing the warmer timber cabinetry. The kitchen island features a curved stone end, softening the strong lines of the kitchen and creating a more natural transition into the seating area. With the stools positioned around the curve, the island becomes a more connected and social part of the space.

The Marazzi Confetto Kaki 100 x 100mm glazed porcelain tile was used across the kitchen, scullery and laundry splashbacks. Made in Italy, the tile has a soft semi-matt, sugared finish and earthy khaki-brown tone, giving the spaces the character of handmade ceramic. Paired with the warm Tasmanian Oak cabinetry, the earthy tones reinforce the home’s mid-century influence while keeping the overall palette contemporary.

Brass Detailing

Brushed brass features throughout the kitchen as a consistent finishing detail, adding warmth and contrast against the timber cabinetry and white stone.

Castella Hinckley Cabinet Pull Handles in Brushed Brass have a simple bow shape and lightly textured finish, bringing a subtle mid-century influence to the cabinetry without feeling overly traditional.

The brass detailing continues to the Memo Zenna Double Bowl Undermount Sink, finished in a brass-coloured nanoplated stainless steel. Paired with the Memo Sia Sensory Gooseneck Mixer in Brushed Brass, the sink area combines practical functionality with the same warm metallic finish used throughout the kitchen. The mixer’s curved, high-rise spout also complements the softer curves of the island.

Bar Nook & Ambient Lighting

The bar nook adds another layer of texture and detail to the kitchen, with Surano profiled cabinetry paired with fluted glass inserts. The vertical grooves in the glass create a ribbed texture while softly diffusing the light from within the cabinetry.

Warm white LED strip lighting was integrated throughout the nook, creating a soft glow behind the fluted glass. The lighting continues throughout the kitchen, with LED strips above and below the feature floating shelves on either side of the rangehood, illuminating the prep area and adding warmth and depth to the space.

The Marazzi Confetto Kaki tiles also feature in the bar nook, tying the earthy khaki tones back to the splashback and creating a cohesive connection between the different areas of the kitchen.

Cohesive Design

The same combination of warm timber, brushed brass and soft white stone carries throughout the home, creating a consistent material palette.

The scullery and laundry mirror the kitchen with matching cabinetry, benchtops, brass detailing and khaki tiling. Positioned either side of the kitchen, they keep everyday functions close at hand while providing additional storage and workspace.

The same approach continues through the bathrooms and main ensuite, with brushed brass tapware and accessories paired with square undermount white basins for a clean, seamless look.

In the main suite, Tasmanian Oak cabinetry carries through to the walk-in robe, paired with mirrored Surano doors, internal drawers and brushed brass robe hooks.

In the living area, a built-in Tasmanian Oak TV unit with integrated LED lighting and open shelving with U-shaped surrounds create defined display areas and add depth to the space.

A practical drop zone near the garage entrance provides storage for shoes and hanging items, while built-in study cabinetry at the top of the stairs creates a dedicated workspace.
