This incredible kitchen renovation we completed for clients in Victoria Park was part of a complete home renovation project to transform this space. Our clients were seeking a Modern Shaker style kitchen in keeping with the original era of their home as well as a more practical layout for everyday family life, better kitchen storage and improved overall functionality.

High on the priority list for the design brief for this kitchen was also a central kitchen island that was stylish and unique in appearance; but also a central hub for entertaining with guests and casual family meals.

This contemporary kitchen design combines shaker profile with flat panel cabinetry; which is typical of the new Modern Shaker style kitchens that are on trend right now. Polytec Ascot cabinetry in Classic White is paired with Prime Oak handleless overhead cupboards; and an asymmetrical open shelf feature to break up the run of overhead cabinetry.

Black industrial style handles were used on the lower cabinetry as a feature and to tie in with other hardware throughout this home. A white tiled splashback was intentionally chosen to add texture into this custom kitchen design.

The feature kitchen island in this renovation project is unique with it’s framed style design that includes solid American Oak timber legs for detail interest and warmth. As part of the design process we were also to customise the seating layout of this island to also include an additional chair on the right hand side for when entertaining.
